Aquaculture and fish farming

AGRU offers a comprehensive, high-quality product range of pipes, fittings, semi-finished products, and concrete protective liners made of polyethylene for safe and environmentally friendly solutions in aquaculture and fish farming. Corrosion-free, impact and UV resistant thermoplastic polyethylene products are essential for the construction of any offshore infrastructure. AGRU's product solutions encompass three product categories: AGRU Ultra Grip Concrete Protective Liners (CPL), piping systems, and semi-finished products. Together, these thermoplastic products support the construction of modern fish farms and offshore infrastructure.

Agriculture

Semi-finished products

AGRU supplies plastic products for a wide range of agricultural applications. From irrigation of agricultural land to bio-acid and abrasion resistant lining systems for barns and feed silos, a variety of plastic solutions are available in the form of semi-finished products. Plastic products are an economical alternative to metallic materials due to their low initial cost, easy installation and comparable or longer service life compared to metals. Wortwiederholung vermeiden. Their use provides production security in agriculture. Smooth surfaces (good gliding properties), high abrasion resistance, easy cleaning and reduced maintenance as well as resistance to faeces, micro-organisms, fungi and chemicals are compelling arguments for the use of AGRU's semi-finished products.

Fish farming

Semi-finished products

Offshore fish farms nowadays use plastic tanks that float in the sea. These closed systems prevent faecal matter and feed residues from polluting the sea, unlike previous net systems. A well engineered chamber and pumping system, allows the fish to swim in the current, and the amount of food can be optimised. UV resistance, saltwater resistance, and impact resistance are important requirements for the plastic material. PE sheets meet all these requirements and are joined by butt and extrusion welding. In many cases, welded polyethylene pipes serve as buoyancy bodies. Additionally, pipelines are needed for water treatment and food transport.
