Alina's logistics adventure
Alina, our organizational talent from logistics, ended up in the middle of American business: trucks as big as houses, endless halls and a golf cart to keep an eye on everything. Her job? Handling truck deliveries, taking stock (when the weather was right) and working with the friendliest colleagues in the world. “The logistics there are completely different - it was super exciting!” laughs Alina. And then this one moment: “I was on the beach one morning to watch the sunrise. It was the most beautiful moment of my life.”
Dominik and the machines
Dominik, who was actually scheduled to work in injection molding, found himself in tool preparation - and that was a direct hit. Checking tools, repairing damage, retooling machines - no problem for him. His highlight? Showing his American colleagues how to program robots. “I had learned that at AGRU in Bad Hall, and the guys in the USA found it totally impressive!” A real moment to be proud of what he has learned.
Work and enjoy
Between work and new challenges, there was plenty of time for excursions. Together with their supervisor Mr. Niedermoser, Alina and Dominik toured the AGRU plants in Georgetown, Andrews and Charleston. The huge machines in large-diameter pipe production were a real wow moment. “When you stand in front of a machine like that, you just think: respect to the Gruber family. This isn't just a company, it's a global brand!” says Alina.
And after work, the day continued with sunsets on the beach at Myrtle Beach, dinners with a sea view and plenty of unforgettable moments.
Why an apprenticeship at AGRU?
Because there's no room for boredom here! Alina and Dominik agree: this experience in the USA was the best thing that could have happened to them. “It was so cool to test our English skills, meet new people and immerse ourselves in the American working world. Honestly, where else do you get the chance to experience something like this during your apprenticeship?”
